Teaching and response guide

  1. Begin with: Explain the sentence-boundary problem in “The club should record equipment loans, it will help members find tools.” and revise it.
  2. Connect the response to: Revise “Members should enter a name, stating a return time, and check the item on return.” for parallel structure. Identify the matching forms.
  3. Ask students to apply the idea: Rewrite the draft as two coherent paragraphs: purpose and support, then conditions and evaluation. Fix the targeted grammar without adding invented evidence.

Watch for: Editing should preserve meaning; fixing punctuation does not justify an unsupported claim.

Check the answer criteria for each task. A supported explanation may have more than one acceptable response. These activities offer evidence to discuss; completing a sheet alone does not establish mastery.
