Addition and Subtraction Worksheets

Choose fact practice before moving to column methods. The regrouping and borrowing resources separate those skills so a learner’s errors are easier to interpret.

Where to start

Start within 10 when counting-on is still developing. Use no-regrouping columns to check place value, then introduce regrouping or borrowing.

A common mistake

A carried ten belongs in the tens column. When subtracting, rename one ten as ten ones rather than subtracting the smaller digit from the larger digit.

What to try next

Ask the learner to explain one column calculation with a sketch or place-value model before doing another set.

Practice in learning order

Select the resource that matches the learner’s current skill. Grade labels are guides; the activity and prerequisite skills matter more than completing every sheet.
