Make a Practical Goal

Use the numbered activities in order. The complete practice sheet is an alternative to the first three focused activities and is not repeated in this pack.
Keep the answer folder separate from student copies. Partner A and B cards contain complementary information; give each learner only their own card.

Learning goals:
- Understand a fictional situation, consider perspectives and explain a constructive response.

Before you begin:
Use the fictional characters; personal disclosure is optional and unnecessary.

Teaching steps:
1. Begin with: Describe the main problem in the situation.
2. Connect the response to: Suggest a constructive next step.
3. Ask students to apply the idea: What might happen after your suggested step?

Watch for: Assuming one expression proves a single feeling or that only one respectful answer is possible.

Activity order:
1. learn — goals-and-small-actions-learn
2. practice — goals-and-small-actions-practice
3. apply — goals-and-small-actions-apply

These activities provide evidence to discuss. Completion alone does not establish mastery.
Paper size and page numbers are preserved in each PDF. Use the matching Sheet ID when checking an answer key.
