Notice and Match Letters

Use the numbered activities in order. The complete practice sheet is an alternative to the first three focused activities and is not repeated in this pack.
Keep the answer folder separate from student copies. Partner A and B cards contain complementary information; give each learner only their own card.

Learning goals:
- Recognize letter forms and connect uppercase and lowercase pairs.

Before you begin:
Notice differences in shapes; no independent reading required.

Teaching steps:
1. Begin with: Find uppercase A.
2. Connect the response to: Which uppercase letter matches c?
3. Ask students to apply the idea: Find every A in this row: A B A C A. How many A letters?

Watch for: Assuming uppercase and lowercase must have identical shapes.

Activity order:
1. learn — letters-names-and-matching-learn
2. practice — letters-names-and-matching-practice
3. apply — letters-names-and-matching-apply

These activities provide evidence to discuss. Completion alone does not establish mastery.
Paper size and page numbers are preserved in each PDF. Use the matching Sheet ID when checking an answer key.
